Samuel Coleridges Poem Kubla Khan Essay -- Poem Poet Coleridge Kubla
Samuel Coleridge's Poem Kubla Khan In the poem Kubla Khan by Samuel Coleridge, language is used to convey images from Coleridgeââ¬â¢s imagination. This is done with the use of vocabulary, imagery, structure, use of contrasts, rhythm and sound devices such as alliteration and assonance. By conveying his imagination by using language, the vocabulary used by coleridge is of great importance. The five lines of the poem Kubla Khan sound like a chant or incantation, and help suggest mystery and supernatural themes of the poem. Another important theme of the poem is that of good versus evil. The vocabulary used throughout the poem helps convey these themes in images to the reader. In the first two lines, Coleridge describes the ââ¬Ëpleasure domeââ¬â¢ in Xanadu. In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree Kubla Khan did not merely order, but decree that a ââ¬Ëstately pleasure domeââ¬â¢ be built. This dome is evidence of how unnatural the place of Xanadu is, it has a ruler who ignores the unpleasantness that can be found in life. The use of vocabulary challenges and teases the imagination into seeing what he, Coleridge saw in his dream. In Xanadu, there are not small streams, but ââ¬Ësinuous rillsââ¬â¢ and wall and towers do not enclose the gardens but are ââ¬Ëgirdled roundââ¬â¢. Coleridgeââ¬â¢s use of language and vocabulary helps to convey the extent of his imagination. In the poem Kubla Khan, imagery is also important for Coleridge to convey his imagination to the reader. There are images of paradise throughout the poem that are combined with references to darker, more evil places. On example of this is the ââ¬Ëdemon loverââ¬â¢ that has bewitched the woman. Coleridgeââ¬â¢s image of the ââ¬Ëdome of pleasureââ¬â¢ is mystical, contradicting the restrictions of realism. Xanadu is also a savage and ancient place where pure good and pure evil are much more apparent than in the monotony of everyday living. By using images, Coleridge conveys the extent of his imagination to readers. The structure of Kubla Khan is really in two parts. The first, which contains three stanzas, describes Xanadu as if Coleridge is actually there, experiencing the place first hand. The second part of the poem is filled with longing to be in Xanadu, but Coleridge is unable to capture the experience again. The first stanza has a definite rhythm and beat and describes the beauty and sacredness of Xanadu with rich,... ...tant threat of destruction. ââ¬ËAncestral voices prophesying warââ¬â¢ could be likened to Godââ¬â¢s warning to go near the tree, as Eve fell for the snakeââ¬â¢s treacherous charm. Coleridge describes the river as ââ¬Ësacredââ¬â¢ on numerous occasions throughout the poem, and to Xanadu as ââ¬Ëholy and enchantedââ¬â¢. This is yet another contrast, how can something holy be enchanted at the same time? Coleridge talks too of ââ¬Ëmiraclesââ¬â¢ but mingled with the holiness, Coleridge refers to hell with his choice of language to depict what is outside the pleasure dome. The demons described are closely related to witchcraft and the closing lines of Kubla Khan describe pagan rituals that attempt to protect not only the reader, but also Coleridge himself from the forces of evil and the extent of his imagination. Coleridge, having ââ¬Ëdrunk the milk of paradiseââ¬â¢ desired and sought after the beautiful image of Xanadu and Utopia and his final stanza is his way to describe to the reader how badly he wants to go back there. By using his wide vocabulary to depict images and contrasts with the help of some literary techniques such as imagery and contrasts, Coleridge easily conveys to the reader the extent of his imagination.

MARKET ANALYSIS SUMMARY Type A: Middle to Lower Class Individual(s) without the resources of an adequate laundry facility. Generally this customer will occupy apartment complexes, government housing or condominium type housing. It will include home owners, families and individuals with inadequate laundry facilities without the financial resources to upgrade or replace faulty equipment immediately. These consumers will also include low-disposable income, physically capable senior citizens in community housing and students residing in dorms or rental properties. Type B: Middle to Upper Class Individual(s) who possesses more money than time, an advanced taste and high demand for exceptional customer service but no time to complete routine laundry tasks. This will include home owners, families and individuals who have high disposable income and require laundering assistance but fail to allocate the time commitment in busy work, family or life schedules. MARKET SEGMENTATION The Laundry Room will target two separate segments: Lower to Middle Class Individual(s) without the resources of an adequate laundry facility and Middle to Upper Class Individual(s) possessing more money than time. The Laundry Room has designed two distinct delivery plans to penetrate these markets. For the Lower to Middle Class, we offer a clean, affordable, conveniently located and well maintained state of the art self-service laundry facility and for the Middle to Upper Class, a professional laundry service with convenient pick up and delivery option. The Laundry Room will penetrate the Lower to Middle Class market by offering self-service, coin and card operated, state of the art laundry machines in a clean, safe, customer service oriented environment. Coupons, loyalty discounts/cards and daily promotions will appeal to this financially moderate and conscious market. This unique and routine Middle to Upper Class market will continue visiting The Laundry Room because of itââ¬â¢s high quality output and impeccable customer service and become a devoted return customer. The Laundry Room will penetrate this market by offering professional laundry services, pick up and drop off work order delivery options and corporate discounts. MARKET TRENDS Laundromats have been established for over 50 years and generally occupy retail space on long-term leases of approximately 10-25 years and product consistent cash flow over the duration of the lease. Laundromats thrive in periods of inflation and recession. During recession, when home ownership decreases, the coin operated laundry market expands as more individuals are unable to repair, replace or purchase new washers and dryers or as they relocate to apartment housing with less than adequate or non existent laundry facilities or services. During inflation when the market size grows in proportion to the increase of population. Like food and shelter, clean clothing is a necessity of life and laundromats provide a basic health service for millions of Canadians every year. MARKET GROWTH According to available consumer statistics, the demand for professional and self-service laundromats is on the rise. Industry and market growth is based on the demographics os population density, population mix and population income. The more concentrated the population in the environment, the greater the demand for profession and self-service laundry facilities. Self-service laundry facilities are primarily used by household renters, the fastest growing segment in the country. As of the 2011 Canadian Census, 24.4% of Brandon, Manitobaââ¬â¢s 21,950 households were renter occupied with an 11% population increase from the 2006 Canadian Census. Professional laundry services for residential individuals generally tailor toward wealthy one-income families or affluent two-income families. Compared to provincial averages, Brandon, MB has a $2,500 (2.54%) higher after-tax family income as of 2005 proving that Brandon has the market for a company offering professional services at affordable prices. MARKET NEEDS The market for our selection of self-use coin operated machines is derived of individuals without the resources of an adequate laundry facility and possess a limited disposable income. The demand for laundry services without the financial resources of outsourcing work, purchasing, repairing or replacing machines gives The Laundry Roomââ¬â¢s self-service facilities, a budget savvy solution, the opportunity to fulfill this market need. The market for our selection of professional services is derived of individuals who have limited time, demand exceptional customer service and who possess high disposable income. The opportunity to devote valuable time to mundane tasks such as laundry is far and few between, but the demand for quality service and the necessity of practicing good personal hygiene remains active in their overloaded schedules. INDUSTRY ANALYSIS As the population of Canada grows with itââ¬â¢s economy, the number of renters, a significant contributor to our revenue, is likely to grow as well. Other social phenomena, like the commonness of double income families, suggest that convenient services offered by The Laundry Room will continue to increase in popularity as working households have less time to attend to essential tasks like laundry. It is even becoming more common for individuals with washers and dryers located at home to utilize self-service or professional full-service laundromats for the sake of convenience. With the regular capacity, generally smaller washing equipment used in homes, it can extend time allocated to laundry. Basically, although the majority of laundromat self-service customers are low to middle income class renters, an increasing number of facilities are tapping into high-income markets by offering convenience; full-service laundering and large, multiple machines. DISTRIBUTION PATTERNS The North American delivery process of laundry and coin-operated services reflects laundromats in the past. The consumer enters a mediocrely designed, well maintained and organized environment, engulfed in fresh, clean aromas concealing an elementary ââ¬Å"turn-keyâ⬠business plan model offering products and services at a competitive price. The Laundry Room will mirror some of these aspects however based on our previously outlined Core Values, the customers positive experience is most essential. Not only greeted by clean, well organized, public Wi-Fi capable, state of the art equipment and modern atmosphere but also a well-trained company representative offering any form of assistance as requested and required. The Laundry Room will offer a pick up and delivery service (provided free for any work orders equivalent to or exceeding 20lbs) and a professional guarantee of all work orders, no matter the size, will be completed and ready within 48 hours of drop off. COMPETITION AND BUYING PATTERNS There are four basic opponents for The Laundry Roomââ¬â¢s customer segment. Locally owned dry cleaning facilities, like Brandon Cleaners Ltd. and Brandon Extreme Clean, national brand dry cleaning facilities, like Perthââ¬â¢s Service, locally owned laundromats, Glacier Wash and Wheat City Laundry and on-site apartment/condominium coin-operated laundry facilities. Strengths Multitude of services offered in one conveniently located, well monitored and maintained modern facility. Well thought out and designed business plan. Superior well-trained and filtered staff with impeccable customer service. Professional grade equipment with quality output. Weaknesses Less experience than already established competitors. Debt is required to commence business plan. Opportunities Contribution and capitalization on a steadily growing industry. Maple Leaf providing job opportunities to individuals immigrating to Canada residing in rental housing without proper laundry facilities. Multitude of services attracts every target market (Upper, middle and lower class) Proper hygiene is a necessity to life providing a constant demand for products and services. Threats Possibility of a large franchised business opening and mirroring business model. MAIN COMPETITORS When contrasting direct business opponents, we have discovered that there are no other businesses offering the same services and products collectively in the Brandon community. The Laundry Room will be the premiere full-service, including wash, dry, fold, dry cleaning, repairs and alterations, pick-up and delivery, coin operated laundry service in the Westman area. On the contrary, there is still competition from similar laundry service and retail product distributors. MARKETING STRATEGY In its introductory months, The Laundry Room will conveniently locate its premiere location in an area of high traffic and visibility that is easily accessible. Victoria Avenue and 34th Street (former location of Brandon Turbo) is the area of choice, located in highly visible, commuter courses and in close proximity to established businesses, upper and middle class residential housing, university dorms, senior citizen housing centres, two of Brandonââ¬â¢s most profitable hotels and a series of apartment complexes. The Laundry Room locations will be unique and easily identifiable, establishing a creative branding and marketing feature. The Laundry Room will be executing a low cost marketing strategy and take advantage of low cost methods of advertisements including good will, word of mouth, social media including Facebook and Twitter and community message boards such as eBrandon. Itââ¬â¢s been shown that the best method of advertising is through word-of-mouth. No major newspaper ad campaign is forecasted. However, we will run weekly specials. In addition, we shall have an incentive program for referrals. The customer who encouraged the new customer to utilize our services rewarded with a FREE service of their choice or 50% off a retail product, and the referee will receive an introductory gift of a FREE wash. We will include loyalty programs and discounts including a BUY 5 GET ONE FREE card to reward routine customers with a lower price. This will benefit our company by building long term customers and maximizing lifetime revenue of our consumers. Several drawbacks of the loyalty card include, the constant return to ground zero with no built up financial incentive to return, only price sensitive consumers will carry it loyally and present during each purchase, it segments locals and newcomers and itââ¬â¢s a volume discount for items purchased over time and not all at once. Which is why we will not onlyà offer the physical cards but also the option of utilizing the FREE online application that replaces physical cards called ââ¬Å"Punch crowdâ⬠to entice technologically, eco-friendly consumers. The Laundry Room will also offer 10% Student and Senior discounts as well as FREE pick up and delivery for any laundry services meeting or exceeding 20lbs. PROMOTION STRATEGY The long term goal is to achieve enough market leverage and consumer brand loyalty to the company to expand into other regions and attract attention from possible angel investors. To ensure this, The Laundry Room requires: A commitment to Public Relation services of $1250.00 per fiscal quarter for the first year of business to establish community awareness and create and design product and service information print advertisement mail-outs. It is projected that the grand opening, high traffic, highly visible location, utilization of free advertising methods such as social media and community message boards and word-of-mouth promotion will generate a significant amount of positive exposure and possibly diminish or abolish the requirements for a Public Relation Professional internal employment opportunity. We will utilize an eco-friendly hybrid Ford Escape creatively and tastefully sporting The Laundry Room company logo, location and contact information. ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION: In the introductory year, The Laundry Room has allocated a moderate advertising and promotion allowance beginning in the first month of operations following the Grand Opening. As a company, we understand that a portion of graphic design, publicity and promotion is best left to professionals, so majority of advertising budgets will be spent on an external company, Direct Marketing to creatively and effectively design websites, brochures, logos and other print advertising. In the first fiscal year of business the word-of mouth-advertising in conjunction with our customer loyalty/referral program and utilization of free technological advertising like social media and community message boards will be strong consumer motivators. The partnership and publicity the organization offers is exceptional along with the business contacts and probability of generating strategic alliances through constant communication with members at Chamber of Commerce hosted events. STRATEGIC ALLIANCES MILESTONES Acting as a financial budget would, the milestone projection outlines pivotal dates in the company timeline. This timeline includes the introduction of the first and subsequent drive-thrus and the mobile cafes. TDGââ¬â¢s milestone table also identifies the break-even month and other key events that will determine our ongoing company success. MANAGEMENT SUMMARY In the introductory months of business, there is zero intention to operate The Laundry Room utilizing a top-heavy organizational structure that diminishes profits and complicates internal communication. TDG will operate under a significantly flat organizational chart. Overhead for management personnel will be modest and all senior managers will act as production employees. PERSONNEL PLAN There will be one Production Worker on duty at all times during all operating hours acting as a Professional Laundry Service Provider whoââ¬â¢s employee responsibilities will include but are not limited to washing, drying, dry cleaning, folding, and pressing incoming work orders and all repairs and alterations. The current salary for the two existing full-time (40 hr/wk) personnel is $910 and part-time (25 hr/wk) personnel is $568.75. With added duties, longevity of job position and increased traffic re-evaluation to increase salaries is reasonable. There will be one Customer Service Representative on duty during all operating hours acting as an Attendant/Cashier/Retailer whose employee responsibilities will include but are not limited to store and basic machine maintenance, all customer interaction internally and externally and daily business transactions. They will assist the laundromat production worker with completing work orders including washing, drying, folding and pressing as time and work load permits. The current salary for the two existing full-time (40 hr/wk) personnel is $820 (40 hours X 2 weeks = 80 hours X $10.25/hr) bi-weekly and part time (25 hr/wk) personnel is $512.50 (25 hours X 2 weeks X $10.25/hr). With added duties, longevity of job position and increased traffic re-evaluation to increase salaries is reasonable. As for mechanical machine maintenance, this will be outsourced to Ronââ¬â¢s Appliance Service as an on-call, locally owned repair service. Ronââ¬â¢s Appliance Service is known in the Westman area for their quick and reliable output. Generally, they service within the day. It is estimated to cost approximately _____ per month per maintenance. FINANCIAL PLAN AND PROJECTIONS The Laundry Roomââ¬â¢s financial layout is quite reassuring. Since it is practicing a cash business with no receivables, however the introductory is generally more than majority of start-ups. The procedure is labor demanding with many services available in one location and The Laundry Room identifies that skilled talent and modern, state of the art buildings and equipment are a necessity. The financial and time investment in its labourers, locations and equipment will be the differentiating factor between The Laundry Room and itââ¬â¢s competitors. For the purpose of this business plan template, the investments of equipment and locations are financed. There will be minimal product inventory kept on hand to take advantage of limited space and price drops in supplies and to discover consumer trends.

Taking a Look at Marriage - 702 Words
Although the beginning of a marriage is often referred to as the ââ¬Å"honeymoon phaseâ⬠, newlywed life is not always smooth sailing for everyone. As the excitement of the wedding begins to wear off, the reality of living together and forming your own family begins to set in. While you are adjusting to your lives being merged together, it is completely normal to experience ups and downs in your relationship. The most common problems that you will face as a newlywed couple include: adapting to life post-wedding, communication, and finances. First and foremost, do not make the common mistake of only planning for the wedding, and not for your life as newlyweds. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, ââ¬Å"If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.â⬠Discuss your expectations for marriage: the division of household labor, bill paying, future children, and how you will spend your time together. Some couples may assume that their spouse will take on a certain role or responsibility in marriage, such as; money manager, housecleaner, or breadwinner. Rather than expecting your partner to fulfill a specific role, sit down and discuss it with them. Another area of importance is assuring your spouse they are appreciated. When you forget to appreciate the little things your spouse does for you, they will begin to feel unappreciated and neglected. How to Copy a Row in Excel VBA
Using VBA to program Excel isnt as popular as it once was. However, there are still plenty of programmers who prefer it when working with Excel. If you are one of those people, this article is for you.ââ¬â¹ Copying a row in Excel VBA is the kind of thing that Excel VBA is really useful for. For example, you may want to have one file of all your receipts with date, account, category, provider, product/service, and cost entered one line at a time, as they occurââ¬âan instance of evolving accounting rather than static accounting. To do this, you need to be able to copy a row from one worksheet to another. A sample Excel VBA program that copies a row from one worksheet to anotherââ¬âusing only three columns for simplicityââ¬âcontains: An alpha column for textA numeric column - an automatic sum is created on the target worksheetA date column - the current date and time is filled in automatically Considerations for Writing Excel VBA Code To trigger an event that copies the row, go with the standardââ¬âa Button form control. In Excel, click Insert on the Developer tab. Then, select the Button form control and draw the button where you want it. Excel automatically displays a dialog to give you a chance to select a macro triggered by the click event of the buttonà or to create a new one. There are several ways to find the last row in the target worksheet so the program can copy a row at the bottom. This example chooses to maintain the number of the last row in the worksheet. To maintain the number of the last row, you have to store that number somewhere. This might be a problem because the user might change or delete the number. To get around this, place it in the cell directly underneath the form button. That way, its inaccessible to the user. (The easiest thing to do is enter a value in the cell and then move the button over it.) Code to Copy a Row Using Excel VBA Sub Add_The_Line() Dim currentRow As Integer Sheets(Sheet1).Select currentRow Range(C2).Value Rows(7).Select Selection.Copy Sheets(Sheet2).Select Rows(currentRow).Select ActiveSheet.Paste Dim theDate As Date theDate Now() Cells(currentRow, 4).Value CStr(theDate) Cells(currentRow 1, 3).Activate Dim rTotalCell As Range Set rTotalCell _ Sheets(Sheet2).Cells(Rows.Count, C).End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0) rTotalCell WorksheetFunction.Sum _ (Range(C7, rTotalCell.Offset(-1, 0))) Sheets(Sheet1).Range(C2).Value currentRow 1 End Sub This code uses xlUp, a magic number, or more technically an enumerated constant, which is recognized by the End method. Offset(1,0) simplyà moves up one row in the same column, so the net effect is to select the last cell in column C. In words, the statement says: Go to the last cell in column C (equivalent to EndDown Arrow). Then, go back up to the last unused cell (equivalent to the EndUp Arrow). Then, go up one more cell. The last statement updates the location of the last row. VBA is probably harder than VB.NET because you have to know both VB and Excel VBA objects. Using xlUP is a good example of the kind of specialized knowledge that is critical to being able to write VBA macros without looking up three different things for every statement you code. Microsoft has made great progress in upgrading the Visual Studio editor to help you figure out the correct syntax, but the VBA editor hasnt changed much.

Chopin as the poet of piano Essay Example For Students
Chopin as the poet of piano Essay Chopin was different with Mozart or Schubert as in they composed in a facile manner while he composed two concertos for piano and orchestra, piano sonatas, polonaises, nocturnes, à ©tudes, waltzes, mazurka, scherzos, ballades, rondos, impromptus, sets of variation, fantasia, recalled, bolero, tarantella, Polish songs for solo voice with piano accompaniment and preludes. Chopin earned the name The Poet of the Piano for his contribution of 80 opuses to the instrument piano. Frederic Chopin is one of the most romantic figure since he was dreamy and tender as a man. His character, of course, mirrors exactly in his compositions. In order to perform Chopping composition, one needs to appreciate his strange and wondrous loveliness. There are so many musician executing chopping works who gave up because they failed to deliver the sensitivity of Chopping music. As an example, his E minor Prelude got everything that amateur pianist needs to be good in their technique. Technique here does not mean a fast finger to play an accurate note with fast tempo but a technique to play a piece with a good tone quality and good phrasing. Its a short piece in enjoyable slow speed and has a superficially straightforward left-hand part, with a sad, singing melody line in the right. This tiny prelude is also a musical masterpiece of poetic expression and emotional intensification. Most of Chopping prelude are not difficult or big pieces in technical aspects but they are hard to play with sentimental as Chopping characteristic. Chopin never wrote a work of programmatic music in his life, a piece that tell a story or an image. Yet his music, has been heard to incarnate everything from revolution to raindrops. He opened up worlds of pianist color and texture without tradition of Classicism. Without him, virtuosity could never have started. And yes, he was a miniaturist, but Chopin also created forms and structures such as the ballade, the scherzo, the hybrid fantasies and that are models of innovative musical architecture. Another REASON why Chopin was named The Poet of the Piano is through his wonderful playing in the drawing rooms of the French aristocracy. The poetry of Chopping music was paramount which means a singing melody on the piano, unique rubout tempo and an agog accent rhythm. GAMBIA. List commented when he listened to Chopin works a sort of rolling of melody, decanting it like a smooth little skiff above a tempestuous flood, adding that it was impossible to grasp this rocking mode without frequently listening to the Master. Chopin did not like playing a languorous fortissimo but he attract people by an extremely colorful melodic line in music like how words flow in poems. There is one series of Chopping composition that make people admit that he is the real poet of the piano which is his nocturnes. Nocturne is the collection of miniature musical masterpiece. No better way to bring peace to your soul than close your eyes and listen while the notes wash over you. Chopin nocturnes are the most lyrical and poetic works that make most of listener dissolved with their beauty. There are teen one Nocturnes by Chopin that are all very poetic and have a freedom feeling inside, he player can play with rubout, slows down and speeds up the tempo to bring the emotion out of the piece. Rubout is very innovative at romantic period and it support a nocturnes dreamlike and shadowy sound. Most of the time, nocturnes are calm and thoughtful. However, nocturnes also have a short part of dramatic or passionate. Chopin nocturnes are a magical pieces and perfect examples of Chopping delicate and unique style of music but most of his works were short pieces but he could express a happy or sad, dramatic or dreamy tunes without restraint. Nocturne in C minor, Pop. 48, No. Was dedicated to Chopping favorite student, Laurel Duper. .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 , .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .postImageUrl , .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 , .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:hover , .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:visited , .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:active { border:0!important; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:active , .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6 .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ua8fd345e6e1a15d9df2fe94d509b37b6:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: "Please Be Honest With Me Even If It Hurts Me EssayThe design and poetic contents of this nocturne make it the most important one that Chopin created. This nocturne is a tragic yet impressive masterpiece. It is one of the longest nocturne and one of the most dramatic. The first episode is Lento followed by Pico pi; lento with arpeggio and double octaves with accelerated towards the last passage with agitated. In this episode he constantly adding dynamic level to help the piece builds gradually to reach the climax of the piece in Dipso movement. He use the rhythmic intensity to show the high point which is the most lyrical and poetic in the piece. E. G. 1 E. G. 2 From the picture e. G. 1, Chopin wrote the theme with simplicity compare to the picture e. G. 2 which he wrote it with impressive figuration for both left and right hands where the quavers triplet become the basic pulse for the left hand accompaniment and it retains the subdivision into groups of four semiquavers notes The combination between the two contrasting rhythmic create a rhythmic tension and increase the compact and broad texture. If this nocturne were a drama, it can b depict in three scene since the nocturne itself is a A B A form. First scene should be introduce the main characters, second scene will be building action to lead it to a climax and the third scene will be concluding the act that continues climax, resolves conflicts and peaceful ending. This pop. 48 à ©tudes represents a beginning from the common dad capo form in Chopping nocturne style. Beside Nocturne, the poetry element also exists in Chopping Etude, venturous Etude is a known for technical exercise. Chopping etude is different from his predecessor, Czerny and Hanson. Everything that they wrote about this etude were fine except here are lacking in musical development since most of them are repetitions from patterns of the note. They have no natural musicality in it but Chopping à ©tudes are special that he was the first to create the etude into an actual art form. There are twenty-seven à ©tudes for piano that train different aspects. Each à ©tudes have their own focus and also their own musical story to tell. At first, this etude seems easy and simple but actually there is a beautiful but slightly gloomy melody with the slow chords as the accompaniment in both hands. In the middle section, there is a left hand semiquaver running notes that are not difficult at all after learning the angering that makes them substantially easier. This à ©tudes are nothing compared to the runs found in some of Chopping works but one must not forget that Chopin is nicknamed as the poet of the piano and this etude is actually much more difficult to play in terms of the musicality, not the technique. The first difficulty is that people always think that the melody is in the left hand only but it is actually in both hands. This etude is an exercise about a singing and delicate tone that a pianist must produce, not only the quality of each tone but also to master a phrasing for a satisfactory performance. This etude is not an etude to improve our technique but an etude to upgrade a pianist musicality and interpretation. Chopping music remains the most frequently played in history. Almost every note he wrote is in the permanent repertoire. When the first notes of Chopin works sound through the concert hall, there is a sign of recognition. All of Chopin music own the possible expression and are all sung by him upon the piano. Chopping works does not tell stories or paint pictures. It is personal and expressive but it is still a pure art. Chopin leave us a bequest of the most beautiful music ever written. Evelyn Handsprings

Marie de Frances Lanval free essay sample
Marie de Franceââ¬â¢s ââ¬ËLanvalââ¬â¢ (Abrams, 2006. p. 142-157) is a 12th century lais that tells the tale of a knight who is caught between two different worlds; that of his loverââ¬â¢s and his own. Forced to live between both worlds, Lanval finds himself stuck between a world of solitude and a world of love. Through the trials and tribulations that result from the circumstances that he finds himself in, Lanval is confronted with the challenge of keeping his love with the Queen of Avalon a secret. This essay aims to show that in order to become a better knight Lanval must confront the challenge that results from him being unable to keep his love with Queen Avalon sacred. Lanvalââ¬â¢s oath to hide his relationship with his lover is his biggest challenge and ultimately proves to be the laisââ¬â¢s central dilemma and unravels a series of consequences which almost bring about his undoing. We will write a custom essay sample on Marie de Frances Lanval or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page It is by facing up to the consequences of his actions that he is able to grow personally through learnt humility, develop an understanding of whatââ¬â¢s most paramount and mature and become a better knight. In order to develop an understanding of why Lanval failed the challenge of keeping his love secret, we must first develop an understanding of Lanvalââ¬â¢s physical and emotional isolation. In the beginning of the lais, Lanval is absent of two things women and land. He is described as a noble foreigner who resides far from his homeland, living by what appears to be the only profession he knows, being a knight (Ireland, 1977. p. 132). King Arthur rewards the service of all his other knights but inexplicably passes over giving Lanval neither women, land nor money. King Arthurââ¬â¢s behaviour is undoubtedly unfair inexplicable, given Lanval moved from a foreign land and has no ancestral rights to any land in the area so is left with nothing. According to Ireland in the ââ¬ËNarrative Unity of the Lanval of Marie de Franceââ¬â¢ such omissions by royalty are not uncommon in medieval literature (Ireland, 1977. p. 133). Further to this, he is not held in high regard by King Arthurââ¬â¢s other knights ââ¬Å"Nor did his men like him at all. They envied his handsomeness, his courage, prowess and largesse. â⬠(Abrams, 2006. . 143). Although loyal to King Arthur and his knights ,the lai reveals that Lanval is upset by the situation he finds himself in and generates a negative outlook, ââ¬Å"Now Lanval is much preoccupied, gloomy seeing the darker side. when he comes from a foreign land and finds no help from any hand,â⬠(Abrams, 2006. p. 143) which leads to him living a life of solitude and isolation. In contrast with the solitud e experienced in his own world of King Arthurââ¬â¢s court, Lanval is provided unconditional love and wealth by the Queen of Avalon. However, to further isolate Lanval from King Arthurââ¬â¢s court, Lanval is forced to separate both worlds because the Queen of Avalon, demands that their love remain sacred or he will lose her forever ââ¬Å"I warn you and pray you and command: you must not tell anyone about the love that you have won. The consequence I shall declare: should people learn of this affair, you shall never see me again,â⬠(Abrams, 2006. p. 145). Throughout the lais, Lanval faces the challenge of remaining loyal to his lover by keeping their love secret. In the end, it is Lavalââ¬â¢s ego which stops him from remaining loyal to his lover and revealing their sacred love when King Arthurââ¬â¢s Queen accuses him of homosexuality. Finding it necessary to justify himself to the Queen, Lanval betrays the promise he made to his lover and puts his own pride ahead of his loyalty to his lover. This shows Lanvalââ¬â¢s immaturity and how he puts his own selfish pride ahead of any loyalty to the Queen of Avalon or King Arthur. However, it is at this point of the lais that the reader begins to see a personal change in Lanval. Almost immediately he begins to grow personally through the experience by quickly developing self-awareness and regretting his biggest error and betrayal. This is noted by Patrickââ¬â¢s in ââ¬ËThe Narrative Unity of Lanvalââ¬â¢ who suggests that Lanval ââ¬Å"reaches a kind of extra mortal awareness that his life and love lie in the other world,ââ¬Å" (Ireland, 1977. p. 140). After Lanvalââ¬â¢s secret love is revealed, it appears that the relationship between him and his lover has ended as ââ¬Å"being well aware that he has spoiled the whole affair,â⬠(Abrams, 2006. p. 149). During his trial, Lanval defends himself but it is his betrayal of his lover that is the biggest concern for the knight than the possibility of being sentenced to death or banished by a jury of his peers. This leads to Lanvalââ¬â¢s submission to any decision the court determines; life or death matters little to Lanval if he cannot be reconciled with his lover. It is clear for the reader at this point that a major personal change has occurred in Lanval, the immature knight that the reader gets to know at the start of the poem is already evolving into a selfless knight. It is during his trial that Lanval is left ââ¬Å"complaining and sighingâ⬠rying a hundred times for her (his lover) to have mercy (Abrams, 2006. p. 149). It is at this point that the reader can see that Lanval is developing humility brought about by his loss and that his love becomes the most important thing in Lanvalââ¬â¢s world. It is by facing the consequences of his actions that we see Lanval continue t o grow personally and ultimately become a better person and knight. In conclusion it is evident; that it is only by failing the challenge of honouring the promise to his lover to keep their unspoken love secret that Lanval is able to eventually come to an understanding of what is most important to him. Throughout the lais the reader is able to follow Lanvalââ¬â¢s development and see that it is not until Lanval develops a deep understanding of his mistake and what his pride may have cost him that he is able to develop humility and to become a better person and knight.
